Country Link is an informal, social organisation for people who have an interest in the countryside. Our members come from all walks of life. Open to all.
It is a national organisation with county based groups. Each group organises their own programme of social events according to their members’ particular interests. Meetings are varied and can include walking, cycling, theatre visits, pub nights and eating out.
I became a member of Derbyshire Country Link after spotting a report about their activities in our local press.
As the carer of a close relative and also working as a nurse, I felt the need to get out of the house and meet new people. I was very apprehensive at the thought of joining an already established group - however my fears were completely unfounded.
From my very first meeting I was made to feel really welcome. The activities are very varied. I particularly enjoy the country walks and pub lunches - something you don't tend to do alone.
I now have dates to look forward to and family and friends have said I now appear happier and more relaxed. I would recommend anyone thinking of joining to give it a go, you won't regret it!
If your county isn't listed above and you are interested in joining Country Link then don't be put off. There may still be a group near enough to you to join a group in a neighbouring county. Alternatively, you may be the person we are looking for to start a new group in your particular area. Details of what this involves are in the Group Handbook.
Country Link is for everyone - single, married, widowed or divorced people, male or female. The majority of our members are over the age of 26, although anyone younger than 26 would be welcomed.
